Corey emailed me a few weeks ago about doing a surprise marriage proposal on the beach in San Diego since he was going to be flying in from Philadelphia for a mini vacation with his girlfriend Megan. We decided on La Jolla Cove and exchanged text messages to confirm the exact spot and that I had them in my sight. We did a photo shoot after she said Yes! And then they headed to Georges at the Cove for dinner to celebrate!

SHE SAID YES!

Ben is a photographer in Pennsylvania so it was an honor when he contacted me about shooting his proposal. Ben wanted all photojournalist, documentary coverage without Rose being aware of my presence throughout the entire shoot; even after he proposed. I was hiding behind trees, cars and pretending to shoot tourists as they walked along the beach in La Jolla Cove. Congratulations Rose & Ben!

Trevor is a trumpet player in NYC and  met Jessica while playing at a Broadway show.  For their 3 year anniversary, the plan was to go out to dinner in La Jolla but to stop at the beach first to watch the sunset.  She said “yes!”  so after a champagne toast we did their engagement session.

Darrell contacted me about photographing his marriage proposal to Ashley a few weeks ago. They were flying in from Austin, Texas for the weekend with the idea of getting their pictures done at the beach followed by going to a Padres game.  Ashley knew about getting her photos done, but no idea on the proposal. I suggested the wedding bowl in Cuvier Park since I knew I could hide behind a tree or bushes there and he could tell Ashley that the photographer was on the way running late which would allow time for a surprise proposal.

Of course there was a wedding there so the rocks one block north worked out better. I had a good vantage point from the hill above and by lying on the ground Ashley could not see me. I sent Darrell a text letting him know that I was in position.  He went for it. She said YES!
